It is true. No one can give ‘Zamannath’ (bail) for life. ‘Zamannath was the unfinished project of S Ramanathan starring Amitabh Bachchan.

Ramanathan was close to Kannada cinema industry from the time of Dr Rajakumar. He made films of top stars in a few languages that got him name and fame. He was the elder brother our Shivaramanna. Brahma, Prateeksha, Gair Kanooni, Faisla, Gangaa Jamuna Saraswathi, Geraftaar, Inquilaab, Mahaan, Dial 100, Kahani Ek Shor, Shiksha, Love in Canada, Devata, Sabse Bada Rupaiya, Rangila Ratan, Do Phool, Gopi, Bombay to Goa, Aadmi  are some of his films in Hindi as director and few as producer.

Back home he made films with Dr Rajakumar and  Dr Vishnuvardhana.  Films like Gejje Pooje, Hrudayasangama, Naanobba Kalla, Bala Chennagide and Driver Hanumanthu are his Kannada films.
